Wanted!
We
are located in a typical residence in the Santa Cruz mountains.
We provide the following types of services:
Inclusive day care and education, Respite care and Crisis care (for
more in-depth descriptions of these services, please read the
definitions at the bottom of the page).
We strive to provide an environment that is comfortable,
home-like, flexible, creative. We
are working to expand on a number of fronts: to serve more families with
the same services, to provide different services, to develop an
animal-based companion program, to enrich our current facilities. Our
immediate goal is to expand our inclusive day care so we need help 2 to
3 days a week, for 8 to 12 hours. However, there are many options for
development and growth. We
can provide room and board for you (or you and your child).
Or you can live elsewhere and commute to work as is traditional.
We can help you develop skills to work with kids, to work with
families who have disabled members, to plan, administrate and gain a
variety of business skills like bookkeeping or marketing.
You could start out working in the day care and decide later that
you are interested in working with families who have disabled members.
You could be a substitute care-giver.
You could decide to do crisis care. Or any combination.
We are always open to developing new programs, to augmenting our
services in rich and crazy ways. So
you could create your own job description based on your ideas.
The ideal candidate must have two things: a heart for helping families and children and a vision for a more compassionate world. Just a big heart and a little vision. Any other skills you bring are bonus. Wages will be commensurate with experience.
