Barbara
Hockaday, Director of the Instrumental in the success and eventual sale of a well-regarded trade magazine, CircuiTree, Barbara is Only Kindness’ business management expert. She has extensive knowledge of printing and publishing and cutting edge internet technologies. As the manager at Circuitree, Barbara led a group of over 20 staff in every task required to run a business and print a magazine. Committed to a team-based business culture, Barbara trained and gained skills in the most progressive and competitive management philosophies today. Barbara graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with a degree in English and has served for five years on the Cal Poly Alumni Board. In this capacity Barbara has been involved in fundraising and has direct access to influential educational and fundraising professionals in California. Deeply convicted about the plight of abused and exploited animals, Barbara has long supported and volunteered with animal shelters and protection organizations. Barbara brings to Only Kindness the ability to run a uniquely competitive business with the latest technologies as well as a heart for those we endeavor to serve. Jennifer
La Force, A
California Polytechnic State University graduate, Jennifer holds a BS
degree in Business Administration. Consistently involved in start up and
restructured businesses, Jennifer is our set up authority. She was a
Global Markets Fellow with First Interstate Bank opting instead to work
in Botswana helping small businesses learn profitability. She later
accepted a position with one of Botswana’s larger restructuring
agribusiness’ as a Business Manager. In this position Jennifer had the
opportunity to meet with international permaculture experts and
developed her passionate interest in business as linked with ecology.
After starting her own business in Botswana, Jennifer returned to the
United States and began employment with a high-tech, start up company.
As a Corporate Officer and Manager, Jennifer helped the corporation grow
to over 20 staff and four million dollars in sales. Jennifer continues
to learn about permaculture and has developed a biointensive, organic
garden at the home where she works with disabled children. Jennifer
studied the psychology of disability in the Special Education program at
Santa Clara University. Jennifer brings to Only Kindness Inc extensive
start up experience, small business management and a heart for those we
endeavor to serve.
Dana La Force, Director
Through
church organizations, mission groups and a variety of other vehicles,
Dana has worked in low income areas and with people in need for 25
years.
From brainstorming and implementing after school tutoring
programs in down town San Jose to organizing gala Christmas
celebrations, Dana has a wealth of experience identifying and meeting
community, family and individual needs in a culturally sensitive,
fiscally successful manner.
As a leader for clubs and organizations, Dana is well
experienced in working with families and within bureaucracy and with
facilitating team efforts.
She brings to Only Kindness Inc a heart for those we endeavor
to serve.
Angela Patterson, Advisor to the Board A Bachelors and Masters graduate of Bath University in England, Angela Patterson is a powerhouse in the non profit and technology sectors. She has negotiated community, state and national partnerships and is recognized as a California state representative and expert on technology for disabilities. Uniquely knowledgeable about medically fragile children, Angela envisioned, planned and implemented a technology center for their use which received state, national and international accolades as a model program. A guest lecturer at Universities, Angela advocates for using technology to directly benefit people with disabilities. As a software engineer and manager, Angela designed, implemented and tested software, traveled extensively to present products and services and effectively and compassionately managed her department. Angela has also served in numerous volunteer capacities, leading support groups, managing an integrated play group and serving on hospital and medically fragile daycare boards.
Dale Baird, Advisor to the Board Dale
Baird has been in electronic sales for over 22 years, managing budgets
from $22 to $100 million in companies as diverse as KCE and Hadco. He
has managed regional sales teams and inside staff espousing a win/win
philosophy that has translated naturally into successful fund raising
and has made Dale our fund raising professional. Superior at showing
prospective clients the advantages of a specific transaction, Dale
believes in facilitating transactions that are good for all interested
parties whether in the for profit or the not for profit sector. At
Printed Circuit Builders, Dale was a member of a senior management team
that became aware of the environmental impact of chemicals used in
manufacturing and advocated for process changes. As a consequence, the
company became the first printed wiring board manufacturer to receive a
waste treatment award from Santa Clara County. As a member of Sales and
Marketing Executives of the Bay Area, Dale was involved in motivational
training, professional development, conferences, fund raisers and
promotional campaigns. As a volunteer at Studio 7, he managed fund
drives, and at KTEH, Dale volunteered at phone fund raising drives.
